Simon Soh
Director and Principal of Sinfonia Music Studio in Singapore
Simon Soh is a teacher, pianist, accompanist, author, clinician, adjudicator, and editor.
He is the Director and Principal of Sinfonia Music Studio in Singapore, which was founded in 2003. He has been the consultant of Forte Academy of Music in JB, Malaysia since 2008.
As a performer, he was invited to play with the Singapore Wind Symphony in 1995. He was also the accompanist for the Afterglow Singers in Philippines in the nineties, and recorded several CDs in collaboration.
As a pedagogue, he is a constantly sought after teacher and speaker in Singapore, Malaysia and China. He conducts music workshops, masterclasses and seminars regularly in Singapore and Malaysia.
In his thirty years of teaching career, he has nurtured many outstanding students who are now either teachers or music authors in Singapore and Malaysia. Many of his students attained high distinctions in the ABRSM and the Trinity College exams. Several of his students are also winners in the international piano competitions.
As an adjudicator, he is frequently invited to judge in many local and overseas piano competitions and festivals. Simon Soh is also the author of ‘Progressive Sight Reading’. He is also the editor of ‘ A Comprehensive Guide to Music Theory’. by Sean Teo and Toh Xin Zhan. Currently, Simon Soh is writing a book on ‘ The Art of Fingering ‘.
Most recently, he was appointed as a tutor for the Bachelor of Music Online Degree Program by the Australian Guild of Music Education.
